Back to School
Return
I’ll see him again.
Tomorrow.
Will I feel the same?
Or will the butterflies,
Fly away?
My hunger for his presence,
Will it still be there?
My desire for his laugh,
Do I still have it?
It has been so long.
My God, how large the months become,
When one is young and in love!
The seconds become hours,
The hours become weeks,
The weeks become years,
The years become forever!
Will I still crave his touch?
Will my breath still quicken,
When he hears my name?
Will my pulse still race,
When I hear his?
Will I fall to the ground,
Lifeless, hopeless,
If I find his heart amiss,
Belonging to another one?
So many doubts,
Such endless questions,
They all lead, with no exception,
To the main one,
The most terrifying one.
Will I still… love him?
I’ll see him again.
Tomorrow.
Will I feel the same?
Or will the butterflies,
Fly away?
My hunger for his presence,
Will it still be there?
My desire for his laugh,
Do I still have it?
It has been so long.
My God, how large the months become,
When one is young and in love!
The seconds become hours,
The hours become weeks,
The weeks become years,
The years become forever!
Will I still crave his touch?
Will my breath still quicken,
When he hears my name?
Will my pulse still race,
When I hear his?
Will I fall to the ground,

If I find his heart amiss,
Belonging to another one?
So many doubts,

To the main one,
The most terrifying one.
Will I still… love him?
